Thought on Name
Dedicated for a friend, from another friend who does not have the cojones to express it directly.
"Tis but thy name that is my enemy;
Thou art thyself, though not a Montague.
What's Montague? it is nor hand, nor foot,
Nor arm, nor face, nor any other part
Belonging to a man. O, be some other name!
What's in a name? that which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet;."
Romeo and Juliet (II, ii, 1-2)
What is a name?
Some say it is the parent's prayer, some say it is a wish
But for me, it is just a mere label, a group of syllables used to distinguish one from another
What is a name?
You can call me McKenzie, Dimitri, Abdul, McDonald, Robert, Gunther, Gomez
But for me, you are beyond those syllables, beyond the lump of meat that incarcerate your true beauty.
What is a name?
Let them ripped your body and replace it with the most horrendous being human mind can ever comprehend.
But for me, you are still the same anima that steal my breath away.
Let our names be forgotten
Let our bodies be torn into pieces
Amore guarda non con gli occhi ma con l'anima
Our souls will live for eternity,
dancing forever in Elysium
